Chained to the Rhythm: Un video musical emocionante filmado en Six Flags Magic Mountain.
En esta ocasión Katy Perry presentaba un videoclip lleno de producción para su sencillo “Chained to the Rhythm”. La cantante se divierte en un futurista y extremo parque de atracciones llamado “Oblivia”.
El videoclip fue filmado en el parque de atracciones Six Flags Magic Mountain en California y dirigido por el ganador del Grammy, Matthew Cullen, quien ha colaborado en anteriores ocasiones con Perry. La colaboración musical incluye a Skip Marley, nieto de la leyenda del reggae Bob Marley.
En el video, Perry se adentra en Oblivia, un parque temático futurista, y se ve vestida con un vestido metálico blanco y cabello rosa brillante. La canción y el videoclip representan cómo vivimos atrapados en un mundo imaginario lleno de felicidad, sin darnos cuenta de los problemas reales del mundo.
El videoclip incluye imágenes de diferentes atracciones de Six Flags Magic Mountain, como Full Throttle Tatsu y Twisted Colossus, y también muestra una atracción llamada “The Great American Dream Drop”, en la que una pareja amorosa se acurruca en una pequeña casa que gira y luego cae violentamente.
El video también incluye una referencia a la actuación políticamente cargada de Perry en los Grammy, con una escena en la que un visitante del parque es catapultado sobre una valla blanca con la inscripción “seguro viaje a casa”.
El parque distópico también incluye atracciones como una rueda de hámster imposible de seguir y una atracción de fuego llamada “Inferno H2O”. Cerca del final, Perry participa en un número de baile gigante antes de que Skip Marley rape en su cameo, lo que conduce a un momento de despertar preocupante para la cantante.
